Not the most well known of Britain's military air stations,
East Fortune is one of the most historic, not least because of
the flight of the airship R.34 in 1919. Many precedents in the
development of both civil and military British Aviation took
place there. To their everlasting credit, the preservation organisation
'Historic Scotland' have designated the East Fortune site as
an 'Ancient and Historic Monument', a worthy accolade to help
preserve the memory of this once active military, and civil aerodrome East Fortune Airfield |
